![]() Ideally, fights will consist of the high-defenses, high engagement character initiating combat and then engaging two or more of the enemies in melee. Then you should have a high-damage character with good mobility whose job will be to murder anyone getting within reach of your priest. Spells that paralyze or otherwise reduce the effectiveness of the enemy are key for this character. You should also have one character dedicated to crowd control abilities chanter or mage are great options for this role, as is Cipher. In the simplest terms, you should have one or two characters with decent defenses and the ability to engage multiple opponents (probably Eder). Your priest's survivability, as a result, is as (or more) dependent on the rest of the party as on the priest. You can build a heavy armor priest, but it's atypical. Priests are generally meant to spam buffing spells that will massively strengthen the party, and heavier armor will inhibit that. In PoE, heavier armor means your casting speed will suffer.
